The iPhone is always a tough one, because I have damaged some in the past, but not recently since they are built more water resistant and more crack resistant. Price of a replacement device is a huge factor, but also how important is the device for work/school and how easy would it be to replace.įor the MacBook which would be costly for me to replace, that I can’t afford much downtime and I’d need a replacement immediately, and I was going to keep it for years, I chose to get AppleCare, even with the hefty cost.įor something like an iPad or Watch, still painful to replace but more palatable, that I don’t need right away and I could technically survive winout, I’m ok with not getting AppleCare. Lately I’ve been going by the personal guideline of how painful would it be if something happened to that particular device. ![]() ![]() Yes this is always a tough question every time I get an Apple product, especially because over the many years the value of AppleCare varies (cost versus what you get).
